I have had a great experience with Pani Krystyna’s Polish classes! Pani Krystyna is a very nice and understanding teacher, and the attendees of her class make the session even more enjoyable.

I loved doing the group sessions because of the supportive and welcoming environment with other language learners. The energy from the other attendees encouraged me to keep trying, and our weekly sessions also forced me to be consistent with my practice throughout the week.

However, I prefer the single and high school Polish classes for learning because it’s more personal. Since I have more one-on-one time with Pani Krystyna in those classes I can focus more on the subjects that I’m weaker in, which has helped me a lot.

In the winter of 2022 and in a pursuit to connect with my roots, I stumbled upon Pani Krystyna’s website. After contacting her, she arranged for us to meet virtually, and a brief conversation led to a private lesson of the Polish alphabet. Pani Krystyna was so personable and her passion for teaching shone through. I knew immediately that this was the perfect fit. One year later, I am still attending class – learning and laughing. It is truly a highlight of my week.

Mrs Krystyna Swirski’s Polish lessons are not the usual language lessons. Ms. Krystyna is involved and very enthusiastic during the lessons and the class covers many different, interesting historical and current topics. Vocabulary is learned by reading and speaking in class. Lessons and topics are engaging and the discussions lively and often with humour. It is a very welcoming, warm environment for all levels of learning.

Pani Krystyna was my Polish teacher in high school (which is many years ago now), when I was learning the language as a second generation (half) Polish Canadian. Now as an adult, it is a privilege and full circle moment that through the wonder of zoom I am able to join her classes once again, though I don’t live in the same city. She is definitely not and has never been your average language teacher. She cares so much about her students, the classes have more of a family environment than a classroom. She is so passionate about the Polish language and culture it is contagious. I feel very connected to my Polish heritage and the language thanks to her. I’m so grateful for her ongoing dedication to teaching the Polish language to new generations of students.

We decided to move next year back to Poland and it wouldn’t be anything special for us parents – both born in Poland, but for our 12 years old son born in Canada this is not a simple matter. New friends and school will require strong communication skills – written and verbal. We were very concerned until we met Mrs Krystyna Swirski a professional teacher of Polish language. Pani Krystyna is a great teacher and Adam is making visible progress. We are very happy and looks like Adam will not have any language problems in his new environment.

Through the nature of my job I learned a few polish words to communicate with my coworkers. I’ve always wanted to learn a second language, so when a friend told me about Pani Krystyna offering her time to teach, I joined her class. At first being Jamaican I struggled with this different language in her regular class. Pani Krystyna without hesitation created another class for myself and others at a beginners level. Her dedication to teaching makes you want to learn just as much as she wants to teach you. Thanks to Pani Krystyna I’m so far ahead of where I thought I would be. I have no doubt I will reach my goal.

Pani Krystina, Has been nothing but kind and gracious with her time.

I live with learning disabilities and, as a newcomer to the language, I was struggling to grasp the Polish language significantly. Pani Krystina is such a skilled teacher, that, she saw that there was an issue without me ever having to say a word. And to my surprise, she proposed that we agree to meet-up three times a week for just 20min to 30min sessions (instead of one full hour class) to help me break down the basics -rather than stifle and overwhelm me.

Pain Krystina built-up my confidence -so much so- I can confidently read out loud unfamiliar words and through a visualization technique, spell it for you with never having seen it written! … It is inspiring how quickly I’ve come along in just six months integrating the Polish language into my life.

I am forever grateful for Pani Krystina’s positive energy and enthusiasm for my success and growth.

This has been my third year attending Pani Krystyna’s Polish classes. Throughout these three years, I’ve had the pleasure of working and learning with the majority of my wonderful peer students. Everyone has something different to offer, and this is recognized by the entire class and, especially, Pani Krystyna. No matter who you are, how old you are, or what your story is, you receive acceptance and support from everyone. We’re all equal in the class, and everyone’s voice is heard.

It’s impossible not to love this class; Pani Krystyna’s enthusiasm is contagious, making every lesson as amusing and interesting as possible. This, too, cannot be achieved without the interest and ambitions of each student. Each lesson is unique and different. Whether we struggle to learn north, south, east, and west, or we do those dreadful declination, or celebrate a holiday with family and friends to share our culture.
Polish class doesn’t really feel like a conventional class or school environment (and thank God for that!). It’s turned into something I simply do every Thursday night… kind of like visiting Grandma, except instead it’s my “Polish class family”. We all support each other, contributing and participating during classes, be it looking a word or phrase up in the dictionary, or bringing baked goods for break (aka: tea time).

Pani Krystyna truly has a soft spot in her heart for each one of us, as we do for her, as well as for each other. It has been yet another successful year, through the best and worst. Now we can only look forward to September.

I am a student in the Thursday class. This is my 2nd year in the class. Polish is a beautiful language (but sometimes it can be challenging!)

I like Pani Krystyna and the other students. Pani Krystyna is a lively teacher. When she teaches she has great joy and her enthusiasm is wonderful. In class we discuss Polish history, traditions and recipes and we read poems and sing songs. Polish is fun and interesting with Pani Krystyna. I never miss a class.
